that loves being the center of attention.

Highlights
  • • Playful, outgoing, intelligent
  • • Bright, loyal, brave
  • • Perfect for city-based dog lovers
  • • Great companion for adults and children
Pomeranian

The Pomeranians are known to be loyal and playful. Descended from large sled dog breeds, which might be the reason why they have a personality of a big dog. They're known to be cute and tiny but with a feisty attitude, a little dog who thinks he can do anything. They have fun personalities and are a popular choice among family and city-based dog lovers for their small size.

Socialization is essential to Pomeranians, you can send them to puppy kindergarten. At the puppy kindergarten, they socialize with their trainers and others puppies while also learning the basic commands. They tend to think they are much bigger than they are, sometimes it leads to harassing and even attacking much larger dogs. Hence, bringing them to dog parks or socializing will help them be more comfortable around other dogs. We also recommend two 15-minute walks a day and bringing them to dog parks, as they love exploring the outdoors.

Pomeranian

Pomeranians have a long and straight coat and a luxurious ruff around their neck and chest. To prevent matting, brush them daily if possible. Also, their thick undercoat usually sheds seasonally, which may not be good for those who have allergies. They are not considered a hypoallergenic dog breed, so please double check your susceptibility to allergies before adopting a Pomeranian.

Pomeranian fur is adapted for cold weather, they have a thick undercoat, which is not ideal for hot weather. High heat and humidity may overheat your Pomeranian or may cause heatstroke. When taking your dog outdoors, make sure the weather is not too hot, or watch for signs of overheating. They are more of a house dog, so please do not keep them outdoors.

Before adopting a Pomeranian, here are a few more notes on making sure they will be happy and healthy. They are bright, loyal, and also have a bundle of energy so make sure to have plenty of exercise and playtime to keep them happy. As they shed all year round, make sure to brush regularly to help keep the loose fur under control.

Maltese

Although famous for their glamorous white coat, the Maltese is recognized as a smart, gentle, and fearless dog breed. They are easy to train, which is good for novice owners. They are known as one of the most charming breeds, playful, cute, and affectionate. They also get along well with children, dogs, and cats.

Like all dogs, the Maltese also require proper socialization and basic training at a young age. As a very people-oriented breed, they excel in agility and obedience training. One of the brightest dog breeds, Maltese enjoys tricks and also games of cleverness. They learn quickly, follow house rules well, and are well behaved.

However, it might be a little difficult to teach them to be quiet. To curb barking tendencies, regular positive reinforcement training and giving them plenty of attention can help. You would have to establish the right relationship with them where you are the leader, and your dog is the follower. On another note, they do not require lots of exercise. A 20-minute walk a day will be plenty.
